Blinds in Atholl

Cluster homes and townhouses in the quiet triangle between Sandton and the Wanderers.

Atholl and Atholl Extension are a mix of older freestanding houses and newer cluster developments, and cluster living brings its own constraint: whatever you fit is likely to be visible to the neighbours and to the body corporate, so exterior colour and cassette finish usually need to be agreed before installation.

The glazing here tends to be more modest than in Sandhurst proper but no easier — narrow side windows facing a neighbour's wall, a west-facing living room with nowhere for the afternoon sun to go, and stairwell glass nobody can reach without a ladder.

Venetians handle the tight windows well because you can tilt rather than close. For the west-facing living glass, sunscreen rollers on the inside are the quick answer and an external venetian or a shading roller shutter is the thorough one.

Atholl sits inside our core service area, so it is the same consultant-led measure, the same made-to-order manufacture and the same installation team we bring to Sandhurst itself. The measure is free either way.

What the light does here, and what we would fit where

Atholl's clusters and townhouses sit under the identical Highveld sun path, so the reasoning in the Papers transfers straight across: how far the December and June sun reach into a room, which elevation actually deserves the spend, and what we would specify on each of them.
